The Story
Puzzletruck began as a creative promise between guitarist-vocalist Stephen Blackburn and drummer-lyricist JB Hopkins — lifelong collaborators who reconnected in 2018 to craft a cinematic blend of music and storytelling. With bassist Rick Reese joining soon after, the band honed their unique sound through years of focused writing and studio production.
In the summer of 2024, everything changed. Stephen and Rick hit the road with Eddie Munoz of The Plimsouls on the Totally Tubular Tour, performing across the U.S. and Canada alongside Modern English, Tommy Tutone, Men Without Hats, The Tubes, Bow Wow Wow, Thomas Dolby, and Tom Bailey of the Thompson Twins.
Returning with renewed purpose, they welcomed powerhouse drummer Casey Crogan, whose intricate rhythms have become a driving force in their evolving sound. With Rick's Berklee-honed bass playing and a legacy that includes Sonic Joyride (covered by MTV, CNN, Guitar Magazine, and Billboard), Puzzletruck sharpened its live edge without losing its story-driven core.
2025 marks a new chapter — with unreleased material on the horizon and a stage-tested lineup, Puzzletruck is ready to make new fans, new memories, and a lot of noise.
